Judicialization of Politics: Some notes about the Concept and its Origin

Abstract

This article makes a critical analysis of different conceptual approaches to the idea of judicialization of politics. It tries to limit the phenomenon in a way that distinguishes it from others that are usually associated with it, such as judicial activism. Then, the possible causes of it expansion are systematized and explained. The conceptual analysis, as well as the scheme of causes offered, can serve as a tool to understand and analyze the Chilean situation in a later way.
