Abstract

The author states that in our country we can find numerous antecedents of the recognition of legal equality between men and women in the evolution that our own national law has undergone in the last hundred years. But it is difficult to identify significant precedents of what we could call a programmatic penetration of equality in legislation, and here lies the interest of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (hereinafter also the Convention or CEDAW) : this is the phenomenon caused directly or indirectly by this Convention.
